Why Is My Filter Icon Flashing?

Updated on Jun 09, 2026

A flashing filter icon means it's time to clean or replace your filter cartridge.

What Triggers the Filter Icon to Flash?

The filter icon works on a simple timer — it flashes after 150 hours (approximately 6 days and 6 hours) of filter run time since the last reset. There is no sensor that detects how dirty the filter is — the icon will flash regardless of the actual condition of the cartridge.

How to Stop the Icon Flashing

  1. Clean or replace your filter cartridge.
  2. Press and hold the Filter button for 3 seconds to reset the filter timer.
  3. The icon should stop flashing once the timer has been reset.

Filter Care Tips

  • Filters should be cleaned at least once per week.
  • Filter cartridges should be replaced within 6 weeks.
  • Always turn off all functions before removing the filter cartridge — this prevents debris from being sucked into the control unit while you clean or replace it.

Self-Cleaning Function (2026 Models Onwards)

Spas manufactured from 2026 include a self-cleaning filter function:

  • A 20-second self-cleaning cycle runs automatically each time the filter is turned off. Note: this will not activate if the filter is turned off within 20 seconds of being switched on.
  • You can also manually trigger a 100-second self-cleaning cycle: turn off all other functions including the LED light strip, then press the FILTER + UP buttons simultaneously.
